• A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is an account, provided by your employer, that you can place funds into to pay for qualified, out-of-pocket, healthcare and dental expenses.

  • You don’t pay taxes on the funds placed in your FSA account.

  • Orthodontic treatment is one of those qualified expenses.

  • Funds in the account can be used for you, your spouse or your dependents.

  • There is a limit to the amount of money that can be placed in your flexible savings account in one year.

  • Some employers contribute funds to your FSA but they are not required to.

  • Keep in mind that if you don’t use the funds within a specified period of time, they might be lost depending on plan requirements.
